Early 1900's Gibson A4 Mandolin

This Gibson mandolin was made in 1907. The model is an A-4 "Artist Model". The top is black and back and sides are a reddish finish. Gibson A-4 mandolins at this time featured an ornamental inlayed pickguard and inlayed tuner buttons on the tuning machines. The "Artist" designation was for the inlays on the fretboard. This intsrument appears to be totally original with the exception of the bridge which is not characteristic of this model.

This instrument is part of our museum collection and is NOT for sale.
